Accelerating research impact
Our knowledge transfer and commercial experts work closely with our research community of staff and postgraduate research students. We help take technologies, know-how and discoveries out into the wider world. To do this we provide extensive training and mentorship, IP protection, legal and commercial expertise, and support for partnerships.
Empowering start-ups
Our dedicated team mentor and guide early-stage ventures through from ideation and business development to fundraising and scaling. We leverage our innovation network and our university’s extensive research capabilities to equip start-ups with what they need to thrive. We also offer incubation facilities and wet labs on campus, hosting over 30 companies at a time in our Innovation Centres.
Engaging for innovation
We engage with a wide innovation network of industry partners, representative bodies, tech scouts, investors, social enterprises, non-profits and many more. We also work closely with regional and national government agencies to advance innovation, while connecting throughout Europe and beyond with partners and funders.
